Kim Seoung-Ja

Kim Gab-Sook
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to see whether Solution-Focused group art therapy is effective for reducing parental stress. The subjects were 16 mothers and her children. A total of 10 sessions were progressed for 3 months and each session took 150 minutes. To measure parental stress change, PSI/SF (Parenting Stress Index/Short From) was utilized at 3 times (Pre-program, Post-program and Follow-up). T-test and repeated measures of ANOVA were used for data analysis. As a result, problem-solving group art therapy reduced parenting stress. To be specific, questions of therapy, including seeking problems, miracle questions, hypothetical questions, scale questions, coping questions, and relationship questions focused on solving problems rather than recognizing problems. The result presents that positive and realistic aspects of the therapy would change parental stress in positive way.
